Service Description: Emergency Community boundaries delineated as a means for identifying communities for emergency dispatching purposes. In September of 1997 the Borough recognized the need for a standardized map delineating community boundaries for the entire Borough and adopted Ordinance 97-119. The Planning and Land Use Departments gathered existing maps of community councils, postal routes and planning areas and consolidated them by forming an official Community Name and Boundary Map. These community names were adopted for E911 purposes to allow for unique community identification as part of an address.
